Ariel Gail

Prof. Gail S. Goodman is Distinguished Professor of Psychology and director of the Center for Public Policy Research at the University of California Davis. She is widely acknowledged for launching the modern science of the eyewitness memory of children and utilizing child victims to serve as witnesses in court. Professor Goodman, who has a wide range of papers and grants, is also the recipient of numerous national and global distinctions. She has advised numerous authorities and government agencies around the globe on policies as well as research related to the treatment of child victims in the justice system. Additionally, she provides consultant to the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center. (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) and is a part of Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of numerous professional organizations, such as those of the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. (Divisions Experimental Psychology and Developmental Psychology Society for Child and Family Policy and Practice American Psychology Law Society Psychology of Women and Traumatic Stress 56) Professor Goodman is also a member of Psychonomics Society, the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children and International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She was the president of the American Psychological Association's Developmental Psychology Division division, Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Society for Child and Family policy and practice.
