Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shakar is one of the American and British sitarist. She was among the youngest and first female to win an award from the British House of Commons Shield she's received nine Grammy Awards nominations and was the first musician of Indian origin to play live on stage and also be a presenter for the award ceremony. Anoushka Shankar is among India's most promising stars on the sitar. She's the daughter of Ravi Shankar and a former student. She was born in London in 1982. During during her early years, she swam between London New Delhi. When she was only 13 the first time she performed was in New Delhi took place. After that, she moved in Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Anouskha is yet to be a mature woman but she has a very amazing career in music and performance. She often joins her father in performances this she's been doing for a number of years. The year 1998 saw her debuted Anourag as her debut solo record. In 2002, she debuted her Grammy Nominated Live at Carnegie Hall. She has performed at most famous venues throughout the world. Anoushka Shankar's professional life isn't limited to music. Bapi the Love of My Live, a biography of a picture that was written in tribute to her father Ravi Shankar was published in 2002. In 2003, she was a Bharat Nathyam young dancer Dance Like a Man. Anoushka Shakar's career as a professional will continue to grow and grow. We can look at seeing lots of different things that she does. Anoushka Shakar, born in England lived the majority of her life between London Delhi. After moving to California she completed high school. She started learning to play the guitar when she was nine years old and performed on the sitar to commemorate the 75th anniversary of her father's birth in Delhi just four years after. Anoushka's father toured around across the world with her and she gained many experience. While still at her teens, Anoushka performed at Carnegie Hall in Peter Gabriel's WOMAD concert. She was the youngest and sole female to receive the House of Commons Shield awarded by the British Parliament in recognition of her musicianship and talent as a preeminent musician of the Asian Arts.
